Jamie Chadwick named as Grand Marshal for 24 Hours of Daytona

Jamie Chadwick has been named as ‘Grand Marshal’ for the IMSA SportsCar Championship season-opener, the 24 Hours of Daytona on 25-26 January.

The Former W Series champion will deliver the iconic ‘Drivers, start your engines’ command at the start of the race.

Chadwick was recently in the headlines when Genesis formally announced their LMDh programme for 2026.

She was amongst a line-up of drivers who will compete in the 2025 European Le Mans Series with IDEC Sport in preparation for Hyundai-Genesis’ FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar debut next year.

Her outgoing racing career has resided primarily in single-seaters having served as a development driver for the Williams Formula One team since 2020.

Chadwick said: “It is an honour to be Grand Marshal of the Rolex 24 At Daytona and, as the spiritual home of Rolex and motorsport, I am looking forward to reflecting on the history, while watching some great racing.

“I’m excited to be involved and hope to join the line-up at Daytona in the future.”

President of the Daytona International Speedway, Frank Kelleher, added his thoughts on the British driver’s role.

“Jamie Chadwick is a true ambassador for global motor sport and the perfect representative to serve as Grand Marshal.

“Jamie has been a champion on the track since her earliest days of racing, and she has been at the forefront of promoting inclusivity in racing throughout her career.”

The class winners of the Daytona 24H traditionally receive an Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona wristwatch with a unique embroidery of the ‘Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona’ logo on each timepiece with the respective year issued.

Pre-event testing will commence soon from 17-19 January also known as the Roar Before the 24.

The main race meeting will commence from 23 January in preparation for the main event in the weekend.
